Appliances

Cooking device

In your kitchen you will find a cooking device. The numbers on the control buttons indicate the heat, the higher the number, the higher the temperature. Electric cooking devices need some time to warm and cool. Keep this in mind when you have used the cooking device.

Radiator

In your room is a radiator with a thermostatically controlled tap. The numbers on the tap indicate the heat, the higher the number, the higher the temperature.

Shower

The showers have a thermostatically controlled tap. You can choose your preferred temperature on one side of the tap, on the other side you can control the amount of water you use.

Car park

Cars can be parked in the parking lot near the buildings. You are not allowed to park your car in the escape routes to and from the building because the driveway has to remain accessible to ambulance and fire brigade.

Caretaker

The caretakers are mr Wim Jansen and mr Piet van de Vendel. The caretaker is present on the premises on Monday till Friday from 8.00 till 16.30 hours. You can contact the caretaker by phone and e-mail. In case of an emergency outside working hours, you can still call the caretaker.

The duties of the caretaker consist of building management, maintenance and for example preparing the room for a new tenant. He is the first person to contact if you have questions, remarks or other problems.

Cleaning

The common areas are cleaned by HEYDAY. The kitchens are cleaned three times a week, the bathrooms and showers are cleaned twice a week and the entrance, the hall ways and stairs are cleaned once a week. The sink and drain pit will be cleaned regularly, but to prevent blocking of the drainpipe, please do not throw food or other refuse down the drain.

Corridor checks

The caretakers checks the corridors regularly. He will inspect the safety, damages and maintenance issues. All escape routes, such as corridors and stairwells, must be free from obstruction. He also checks the escape route on other safety issues, for example inferior electricity cables, loose cables on the floor or highly flammable items such as flags or posters. The fire extinguishing resources and emergency lights must be clearly visible. For more information on safety see Safe housing.

Fire detectors

Every corridor has a smoke detector, the caretaker will replace the batteries regularly, but if you notice an empty battery please leave a notification to contact the caretaker.

Household refuse and waste paper

Haarweg 10 and 10A:
Household refuse, organic waste and glass can be disposed of in the refuse containers outside the buildings. The container for glass can be found next to Haarweg 333, block B. For chemical waste and bulk waste please check the refuse calendar of the City Council. A poster with information on garbage disposal can be found on the information boards.

Stadsbrink
Household refuse, organic waste and glass can be disposed of in the different containers. The containers for refuse and organic waste can be found in the room next to the main entrance of the building. The blue container next to the front door is for paper waste only. For chemical waste and bulk waste please check the refuse calendar of the City Council. A poster with information on garbage disposal can be found on the information boards.

House rules specifically for Stadsbrink
There are specific house rules that apply to all residents of Stadsbrink. You will receive a copy of these rules when you sign your contract. You can also find the House rules here.

HEYDAY office 
The HEYDAY office will take care of the administration, the contracts and the finances. Also when you can’t settle things with the caretaker, you can contact the employees at the HEYDAY office by sending an email to studentliving.wageningen@heydayfm.nl.

Keys

You receive one key to your room when you sign your Tenancy Contract, you also receive a key of the mail box. When you loose the key of your room, we will replace the lock. The costs of placing a new key cylinder, new keys and the administration will be charged to you. This amounts to € 180,-. When you loose your key of the mailbox, we will make a new key for you. This will cost you € 15,-.

All floors have their own laundry room, where washing machines and dryers are available.

Stadsbrink
All floors have their own laundry room, where a washing machine and dryer is available.

Linen package

When you arrive in your room, there will be a linen package in the room. This package contains a duvet, duvet cover, pillow, pillowcase and mattress sheet. These items are your property, you have to pay € 35,00 once at your first payment of the rent. If you don’t need the linen package, you have to return the complete, unused package to the caretaker. You will receive a settlement of € 35,00 on your next payment.

Room inventory

All rooms are furnished with a bed, mattress, desk, desk chair, drawer unit, wardrobe and curtains or sun screens. These items are part of the inventory and must remain in the room when you vacate the room. When the inventory is damaged, please contact the caretaker. If the damages are caused by the tenant, the costs will be charged to the tenant.
