Service costs are a payment in advance for additional supplies and services. Among other things, the service charges include gas, water and electricity and minor repairs. They also include gardening and garbage removal. When signing the tenancy agreement, you receive a specification of the service costs.
Every year, the settlements of service cost payments are made per building/ address. This is done based on the actual costs, calculated over the calendar year. If the actual costs are lower than the deposit, the difference can be refunded. It seldom happens that you would have to pay an additional amount.
Money will only be refunded if it is more that € 25 and if you stayed at a particular address longer than three months. If a deposit is relevant to you, please contact TROTS.
